Out of the Shadows goes virtual
Since 2012, Lifeline, Australia's largest suicide prevention service provider has been observing World Suicide Prevention Day by hosting community gatherings around the nation providing a safe place for people to come together.
This year with physical distancing restrictions created by Covid-19, Out of the Shadows will be providing opportunities for connection virtually.
There are three ways you can get involved. We ask Australians to help us send the clearest message of HOPE yet to those who are struggling with the impacts of suicide, that they are not alone.
Walk with us
Join a centre virtual walk this September.
We can still come together on a designated time and day for Out of the Shadows whilst maintaining social distancing.
Host your own walk
For those passionate about walking in their own time and own way Lifeline will be here to guide you with some tips and support on planning your walk during COVID but we ask you to host and organise these independently.
Plant a virtual flower
Whilst we may not be able to share the warmth of connection face to face for World Suicide Prevention Day, we hope this garden will be a place to come together, unity in knowing you are not alone.
